Fraud seems to be an unrelenting force within the world of driving tests with both practical and theory tests attracting their fair share of unscrupulous instructor’s examiners and candidates.

In recent weeks the police have raided a number of test centres across the UK after allegations of bribery and cash for passes became evident.  One examiner is alleged to have been bribed as much as £3000 for each pass he handed out with an estimated 100 fraudulent passes being issued.

In other cases, instructors and test candidates have been arrested after similar agreements were made to pass the candidate despite them not actually legitimately passing their test.  Identity fraud is also a common problem, with investigators looking into over 900 cases where it is suspected that a candidate has paid someone else to sit the test on their behalf.

Unfortunately many people seem to be putting financial gain and social acclaim before the importance of their own moral and legal obligations.  It is a legal requirement to pass your driving test before you are granted a drivers licence to ensure that our roads are safe place to be.  This kind of fraudulent behaviour simply means that more unqualified drivers are likely to be on our roads and accidents and claims are likely to be more commonplace.
