The fee for the theory driving test will fall by £6 in October 2014, taking the cost of a test from £31 to £25, with a further drop of £2 in October 2015.

The practical car test cost remains the same at £62 on a weekday, and £75 in the evening after 16:30 and during weekends.
The government said that there would be no change to the content of the cheaper theory test.
Transport Minister Stephen Hammond said “I am delighted that theory tests will now offer better value for money while continuing to meet these rigorous standards.”
